The Impossible Astronaut

Wowza. What a great start. The intro was fantastic. The Doctor has been up to some crazy antics, hasn't he? I really enjoyed the "Doctor who?" pun when he was hiding under that skirt. Cheesy, but funny. There were a bunch of things that I loved about this episode. Beautiful scenery. BEAUTIFUL. Way to make America proud, Utah. River's entrance was brilliant. I so do hope there's more hats/hat shooting in the next half. The scene where the Doctor gets shot is also brilliant. The angle and the far away-ness makes the impact so incredible. I watched this episode with my he-used-to-be-just-a-friend-but-now-he-is-my-boyfriend-but-he-wasn't-in-this-context-anyway-let's-get-on-with-this and right after the shooting was a commercial break. And basically the whole time I was either a) crying b) clutching onto him or c) shouting "What just happened?! They can't just kill him!"

Yeah....

Another thing I really loved about this episode was how Amy was reflecting the Doctor after he died in that like dinner place. She just kept being quirky and saying "shut up" which is *very* Doctor Eleven. Also when River slapped the Doctor. As a person who slaps people on a semi-regular basis, I just thoroughly enjoyed it. The whole not knowing what was going on during the episode keeps me intrigued and infinitely frustrated.

Also off topic: Liam Dryden looks amazingly like David Tennant

It was really nice of having the "It's bigger on the inside" moment again. It hadn't happened in a while. And it was nice :) I actually enjoyed the American touches. Nixon and the CIA and the Silence is completely fantastic. My 2nd favorite enemy of all time. 1st being the Weeping Angels cos they're are so scary. I'm a big Moffat fan, if ya can't tell.

One of the few things I didn't like was when someone sees the Silence, why the hell doesn't anyone scream!?

All in all 9.5 out of 10

Well Now.

Well now that the 6th series is half-way done, I need something to occupy my time other than working at the DQ. (DQ is awful job, but I like money.) So I'm going back and reviewing each episode. It may take awhile. Cos I'm going do this properly, with thoughts and stuff. Note that I have seen all of these already, so I won't be able to write about cliffhangers or very much of first impressions. But oh well. Impossible Astronaut will be up soon-ish.
